It Is Your Birthday, Right?

Last night, Jarred, Emily, and I decided to dine at Claim Jumper. Here are some funny things about our time there:

1) When we arrived, the hostess said that the wait would be 20-25 minutes. I wasn't so bothered by this, but Emily was. As we took our beeper thingy and walked outside, we saw another beeper thingy sitting on the "Love Tester" machine by the door. Emily picked it up and took it with us. Editor's Note: I objected to this, as I thought someone could have placed it down and expected to return to find it. But Emily told me to shut up and that she was hungry. The beeper thingy that we found went off before ours did. So, we went and turned it in and were seated. Emily told them that she found our beeper thingy by the door. Some family probably starved because they had to wait an additional 10 minutes...

2) After our meal, as we were waiting on the check, our server Jon appeared with a piece of Cookies and Cream Mud Pie with a candle in it. He wished Jarred a happy birthday. The only problem was that it wasn't his birthday... and none of us had said it was. We kind of sat there with open mouths and Jon asked, "It is your birthday, right?" I had no idea what to say. Neither did Jarred. Emily slowly nodded her head yes. He put the dessert down and we enjoyed eating it. I sitll have no idea why this happened. But, the dessert was great! Jon, if you are reading this, we all agreed that you were a great server! Probably the best we have ever had at Clam Jumper...
