Sam the Cooking Guy...

Those of you who know me, or for that matter read this blog regularly, know that I became addicted to the Food Network last year. Everybody in my family cooks, and I dabbled in baking when I was in high school, but I've really always been more of a fan of what you do with the food after you cook it than before. That all changed when i found the Food Network. Shows like Boy Meets Grill, Everyday Italian, and Good Eats hooked me in. They inspired me to try to attain Iron Chef status. But, of all the cooking shows that come on the Food Network, my favorite show emanates from a different source.

Allow me to introduce you to Sam the Cooking Guy. Here's an excerpt from his web page to better acquaint you:

People say they can't cook. But it's not that they can't - it's that they don't. They've been totally ruined by recipes that call for a ton of ingredients and a million ridiculously complicated steps. The recipes on this site are for people who want to eat well, but don't want to spend a fricking year getting there. I don't believe in fancy equipment or expensive & hard-to-find ingredients. I do believe in food that's big in taste, but small in effort. You can get everything from a regular supermarket and if you can read, you can cook.

I've made 3 receipes that I saw on Sam the Cooking Guy: Shrimpy, Meatball Sands, and the Ice Cream Sandwich Deal. And people have loved all of it.

If you're looking for some simple ways to impress your friends with some amazing tastes, check out Sam the Cooking Guy's site. Personally, I'm hoping that I can attend one of his classes this year. Who knows maybe his show comes on where you live...
