Web Wednesday: A Day Late, But It's Worth It...

Ok, Ok... I know that this is typically a bit that's done on Wednesdays. But, yesterday was super busy and this is way too cool to not tell you about right now! Here: are two things you should know about me:

1) Whenever I'm trying to think creatively, I like to be doing something with my hands. Drawing, shuffling cards, reciting The Great Gatsby in ASL... All kinds of things...

2) I love toys. Right now, in my office, I have a magic 8 ball, a slinky, a David Hasselhoff Knight Rider action figure, a Jesus action figure, and a Rubik's Cube.

When I bought this Rubik's Cube, I knew that this toy could be problematic for me, as I am slighly OCD. The thought of having a mixed up Rubik's Cube, instead of a solved one, on my desk greatly distressed me. As I tell this to my friends, thinking that they would offer emotional support, I see a sly gleam in Ryanne's eye. I knew what she was thinking. We both dove for the cube. But I got there too late... She mixed it up.

So, today I pulled my mixed up Rubik's Cube off the shelf; wishing I could solve it using my own mental acuity. That's when I found this. It's a program that a guy built that solves your Rubik's Cube for you. I doesn't give you tips, hints, or general principles for solving the puzzle. You enter in your specific cube's set up and it gives you step by step instructions for solving it! Now, no one has to go through the horror of living with a mixed up Rubik's Cube.

This is the greatest thing I have ever seen...
