5 More Things...

A little while back I posted 5 Things You Don't Know About Me. Well, as another peak behind the curtain, here are 5 more. Only, this time, they're 5 things I've never done...

1) I've never eaten a Filet-o-Fish Sandwich from McDonald's. Every summer, my brother and I and our two cousins would spend the days at my great-aunt's house. At least once a week she would take us to McD's. I would always get the 2 cheesebuger meal. But, my cousins would get the Filet-o-Fish and it would totally gross me out. Something about cheese on fish... and tartar sauce! Still, to this day, I've never eaten one. Oh yeah, I've also never eaten a McRib.

2) I've never rented and watched The Usual Suspects. I've heard so many great things about this movie. So many people who really know movies say I should watch it. Heck, I even love Bryan Singer. But, I've never watched it. Funny thing is, I've rented it four times! But, something's always come up that's prevented me from watching it. Every time, it gets returned to the store unwatched.

3) I've never been to the Joshua Tree national park even though I’ve driven by it 4 times. Here's the deal: I was born on October 27, in the year of our Lord, 1980. U2 came out with their album on March 9, 1987. So, the way that I figure it, they owe me some money. Anyway, every year since I moved to Cali in 2003, I've gone to Palm Springs. Joshua Tree is super close. All I've wanted to do is to get a picture of myself standing in front of the sign holding up my hands to make the "C" and the "E" to make it my name. But everytime I go, none of my friends want to go with me to the sign. I go back on May 28. Hopefully, this year, it'll happen.

4) I've never seen It's a Wonderful Life. Now, before you burn me in effigy, I have my reasons. Ever since I was little, I've always wished that I had a tradition of watching it on TV when it comes on during Christmas. Every year, I promise myself I'm going to do it. Every year, something comes up or, to be honest, I forget. I hope I can see it this year.

5) I've never wished I could change the past. My mom asked me this past Christmas if I wished things would have been different for me growing up. My dad split when I was 14 and things were just... well, let's just say I had to learn a lot of things on my own. But, honestly, I wouldn't change a thing. I am who I am because of where I've come from; because of the choices I've made. If things wouldn't have happened the way that they did, I wouldn't be the man that I am today. Thank you, Lord, for your presence in my life. I would be, and am, nothing without you. Please guide my next 26 years as you've guided these...

1) You're missing out on the Filet-O-Fish and the McRib.

2) You really need to WATCH the movie next time.

3) I will go with you and take your picture.

4) I haven't either. I always watch A Christmas Story.

5) To the future.

please drive through McDonalds and buy two filet o fish and a couple of shamrock shakes.
Then, come to my house and we'll watch "It's a Wonderful Life"
You will cry and you will not believe that you have missed out. Seriously, Josh, I watch it 2 or 3 times during the year. Allison and I have several lines from it. It's great!!!

PS... I've also never watched "It's a Wonderful Life." I've seen a few moments of it but not the entire thing.
