I Did It...

I just got back from our annual staff huddle. Rather than write out a recap of it, I decided that it might be more interesting to tell the story through pictures...

  • When I arrived at the resort, I discovered that I was staying in a building that had the same name as me, which I took as an indication that it was named after me. So, using my powers of deduction, I figured that I had free reign over it. Editor's Note: The couple in room 817 didn't see it this way when I knocked on their door at 10:38pm to ask if they had anymore sugar packets.

  • On Tuesday night, we ate at Kobe. Jarred and I decided that we needed to get hip holsters for our cooking knives.

  • I made this decision on Tuesday night: Bathrobes in the real world = old dude uniform. Bathrobes at a fancy resort = blanket with sleeves.

  • I found a new coffee place called Bad Ass Coffee. I ordered my usual "not at Starbucks" drink, but ended up disappointed. Bet you can't guess what I said it tasted like...

  • Wednesday night, we ate at P.F.Chang's. I helped introduce 12 other people to the joy that is Banana Spring Rolls.

  • As I said here, I intended to make it to Joshua Tree no matter what. WELL, I FINALLY MADE IT!!! I waited for five years, but I finally made it. And it was only 45 miles out of the way. Now, how to fix the sign...

  • Here's me adding a much needed "C" and "E" to it. Ahhh... That's better.

  • So what is a Joshua Tree? Read all about the tree named for me here...

  • I wanted to get a good lay of the land, so I pulled over and climbed to the top of a nearby rock formation. You know, setting a 10 sec timer on your camera and then trying to climb up high and pose like Spider-man before it goes off is tough. And dangerous...

  • Wow Josh, what a pensive photo. You must be gazing out at some beautiful piece of Southern California scenery...

  • Yeah. Here's what I was looking at... Pretty. Ain't it...
