(Half) Day 3 With Dad...

This morning came WAY too early! Dad woke me up at 7:30am and I grabbed a quick shower and we were off again!

  • I took Dad to breakfast at one of my all time favorite places in San Diego: Kono's. It's a little surf cafĂ© in Pacific Beach right in front of Crystal Pier. I'm not exaggerating one bit when I say that they have the best eggs on the face of the planet. (I can't, however vouch for what eggs are like below the earth's crust.) If you ever come to visit San Diego, make sure that you go. If you ever come and visit me, I'll probably take you and pay. Here's a picture of paradise...

  • We took a walk on the pier and then I got Dad to walk along the beach and actually get his feet wet in the surf. He was so stoked that he can now say that he's been in the ocean on both sides of the country.

Dad's flight left at 12:40pm, so I had to take him to the airport after that. It was awesome to have him here and for him to finally get to see what I've given my life to. Hopefully, after this, he'll be able to come out more regularly...

dude, you're not in high school anymore. 7:30, for an adult, normally ceases to be "WAY too early".

I know. I normally get up at 7am everyday. But when you don't go to bed until 2:30am, it's WAY too early!

Wow, sounds like you had a really fun weekend with your dad. That is awesome. And...Kono's ROCKS! You're taking me back to my college days when I lived in PB and frequented there...sitting on the patio in the oh-so-chic plastic tables and chairs :)

ps...if you want to try another amazing breakfast stop, try Cafe 222 downtown (222 Island Ave). They have INCREDIBLE peanut butter and banana french toast...and really yummy potatoes.
