My Weekly Goals...

I spent a lot of time today thinking about who I want to be. Now, I think it should be said that, I'm not a person who is ever satisfied. Not in an "I'm uncontent with my life" way. But more along the lines of "how can I do that better next time" or "how can I go farther". So, I'm always looking for ways to use my past as a step to go higher towards my future.

I know that this is the time in my life where the habits that I develop and the choices I make will set in and stick with me forever. So, knowing who I am, I've decided that I'd like to set some "baby step goals" for the next week in order to put me on the way to establishing some things that I'd like to have as a value in my life.

Here's a list of some of them that I will adhere to Tuesday through Sunday:

  • I will wake up at 7am everyday this week. I hate having to rush in the morning. I love being able to get up, take a long shower, have breakfast, and still have time to watch a little TV or read.

  • I will go to bed (maybe not go to sleep) at midnight every night this week. I've reset my body clock to where I'm not falling asleep until 2am. I hate that because my body wakes me up at about 8am everyday anyway and I'm a better person with 8 hours of sleep.

  • I will spend time reading my Bible and journaling in the morning everyday (except Sunday) this week. Such an important part of who I am in Christ. 'Nuff said.

  • I will go to the gym 4 nights out of the next week. Puddles posted today about his training for the Disney half-marathon. Well, I said here that I'd do it with him. I find out for sure tomorrow if I make it in. I have to start my training if I do. If I don't, it'll be nice to get back to working out more regularly again.

  • I will not drink soda until at least Saturday. I posted here about my need to break my addiction. I figure a week's pretty good. Once I get to Saturday, I'll reevaluate to see if I need to go more time.

  • I will, if it is at all possible, answer every email I receive this week on the day that I received it. I'm horrible at this. I read every email, think about my response, then decide to answer it later. My problem is that I forget about it and never answer. Tomorrow I'm cleaning out my inbox and starting fresh.

So, those are my goals this week. I'll let you know how I do next week. I'd love to encourage you to set some "baby step goals" for yourself this week. It's never to late to change yourself for the better...
