Phone Home...

I've had the same cell phone since Christmas of 2004. It's been a good cellphone, even though at times it would only hold a charge for 30 minutes. Well, yesterday, I laid it to rest. I bought a new phone. With a new phone, lies an endless world of possibility. Cool new features, cool new tricks, cool new ways to get distracted while you sit in church. But, a new phone also means saying goodbye to an old one. Here are some things that I will miss about my old phone...

  • My custom made ringtone for Puddles. Once, during a weekend service that I was leading worship at, Puddles had to do announcements. As he came onstage, I was supposed to exit. But I stayed up. I grabbed my guiter and asked 300 Jr. High students if they wanted to hear Puddles sing the announcements to the tune of Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway. Of course they said yes. It soon became a classic. So, I had him record a version on my phone that I used for his ringtone. Now, it's gone...

  • A picture of the mountains in Tahoe. My favorite background because it reminds me of the time I spent there with my great friends.

  • 3 years of saying "What?" I could barely hear anything on the old phone. I hope this one's better...

They gave me a Q for work. It's treated me well so far.
