In Case of Emergency...

One of the features on my new phone is an "In Case of Emergency" call list. It's the first thing in the contact section and includes three people in my regular contacts who should be notified in the case that I'm mostly, or all the way, dead. So far, I only have two people on the list: my boss, Brian, and my mom. I put Brian on the list first because, if something were to happen, he would be able to respond before my mom, who lives in South Carolina. It also has a "notes" section where I have my blood type and medication listed.

This new feature has brought up what has become a regular pattern of thought in my mind. What would happen if something would happen to me. I live, by myself, 2335 miles away (I mapquested it) from my family. So who would I want notified if something happened? Who would respond? Should I get one of those medical alert bracelets?

Maybe it's just good old fashioned fear that spurs this kind of thinking on. I'm not sure.

Maybe it's a bit morbid but, is it too early to begin thinking about making out a will...

Put ME as #3 for emergency. When they call, I'll immediately blog about it and then everyone will know if they should pray for you or come get stuff they like out of your room.
You're funny...

um, if you're dead, I promise to sell your stuff on e-bay. I'll even give the profits to World Vision and needy kids so you won't die for not. I'd call your mom for you, but I don't have her number. So, I'll post in on my blog too.
