Since I was in High School, I've had an ongoing (read as: obsessive) interest in movies. One thing this interest has led me to is the show Inside the Actors Studio, hosted by James Lipton.

It's such an interesting show because it examines the person behind the role. The episode featuring Dustin Hoffman is one of my favorites of all time.

After spending time discussing the guest's career, Lipton concludes his portion of the interview by asking the same series of 10 questions. As a self indulgence, I figured I'd pretend I was in the hot seat and answer them myself...

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Creatively: When old stories are told in new ways.
Spiritually: Learning new things about my God, and how they can apply to the world He created.
Emotionally: Finding even the smallest bit of common ground with someone.

What turns you off creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Creatively: Unevaluated tradition.
Spiritually: Selfishness. (Wait... this window is a mirror!)
Emotionally: Dishonesty.

What sound or noise do you love?
The sound of a far off train's whistle, late at night, as I fall asleep.

What sound or noise do you hate?
People blowing their nose in public.

What is your favorite curse word?
I think this is one that you'll have to ask me in person...

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
History Teacher.

What profession would you not like to do?
White House Press Secretary.
