R.I.P. Rocket...

I've decided to stay in SC for a few more days...

This decision was motivated by a teaching opportunity that came up, my desire to spend time with my family, and (of course) the chance to eat more southern food.

So, I decided to share some stories from home.

This is the grave of my hamster, Rocket.

I think I had him around 9th grade. He was a great pet... if you wanted your room to smell like pee and liked to be kept up at night from the sound of a plastic wheel turning. When he died, my dad made this cross out of stainless steel. I was walking through my backyard the other day and, it turns out, his grave has gone undisturbed for over 13 years. Awesome...

Maybe I'll buy another one to keep me company in SD. but probably not...

Hope u enjoy bro! Again, I'm a little envious of your visit there. Especially since you keep mentioning Rushs. I love that place!

Nice cross, btw.

I buried a bird that flew into my grandparents window at their house in Palm Springs, then painted a rock and put it over the burial spot. 10 years later, and new new owners, the rock has not been rolled away.
