Top Ten Cartoons of the Eighties...

To say that, when I was a kid, I was a fan of Saturday morning cartoons would be a gross understatement. I used to get up at 6am every Saturday, grab the TV Guide and a highlighter, and highlight all of the shows that I wanted to watch that morning. I would then set the VCR to record all of the shows that I liked that were on at the same time as those that I would watch. I still remember the first Saturday morning that I didn't wake up in time to go through this process. I saw the clock on the VCR, got upset, and threw the remote against the fireplace.

Cartoons of the eighties are the best that have ever been made. Since then, only a handful of shows have been produced that are on par with them. Cartoon Network, while doing a lot for cartoons, pretty much killed off Saturday mornings.

And so, I wanted to make this list as a celebration of such an awesome part of my childhood. And so, without further adieu, my list of the top ten cartoons of the eighties. I'd love to see your opinions on the list and ideas for shows I might have left off...

10) Inspector Gadget

9) Muppet Babies

8) He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

7) MASK

6) The Real Ghostbusters

5) Ducktales

4) G.I. Joe

3) Thundercats

2) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

1) Transformers

Honorable Mention

Alvin and the Chipmunks

Captain N: The Gamemaster

Allison's favorite was Inspector Gadget--it was her first lunch pail too!
Zac's was Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters too...We had every single action figure of these cartoons too...

PS LOVE Macs and Mac service too.
I love sitting at the Genius Bar too. Don't you think they should serve Apple Martinis? (boo)
