Hmm... This Seems Familiar...

A new show premiered on CBS recently. It's called The Mentalist. But, as I've been reading about it, it seems a bit... familiar...

Here's a summary from wikipedia:

Starring Golden Globe Award nominee Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation. Within the Bureau, Jane is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned.

Now, here's a summary about the show Psych, which I love:

The show stars James Roday as Shawn Spencer, a young crime consultant for the Santa Barbara, California Police Department (SBPD) whose "heightened observational skills" and impressive detective instincts allow him to convince people that he is psychic.

Look similar? How has no one said something about this? Maybe it just means that I would like The Mentalist as much as I like Psych...

Psych is funny - Mentalist is presumptuous. Presumptuous and funny is good, but without the funny - not so much. It's okay - but not as good as Psych.

I noticed and for a second was outraged and was going to say something ... and then realized I didn't care near enough to exert myself.
