Dr. Seuss Was Ahead of His Time...

I've posted on how awesome Dr. Seuss is before. It's just an indisputable fact. Like how purple is the best flavor, or how a little Kermit makes anything better. But I never knew how he might have been a prophet...

Yesterday, I took my brother to the library. After I read some magazines and Caleb worked on a word search, we made our way downstairs to the children's books. After looking around for a few minutes, Caleb made his way over to the Dr. Seuss books. He picked up two and we sat down in a great spot to read.

As we read, I came across two words that, even though Dr. Seuss wrote them in the 70's have become a part of our present day vernacular.

Even though The Shape of Me and Other Stuff was written in 1973, it had this little gem in it...

How did Dr. Seuss know about blogs before the internet (or the personal computer) was even invented?

And now for exhibit B...

Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now! was written a year earlier than The Shape of Me and Other Stuff in 1972 but easily predicted one of today's most used slang words...

Is this an episode of Cribs or did I just see Dr. Seuss referencing a crunk car?

Who knew the good doctor rolled so hard...
