The Biscuit House...

A few weeks ago, I was sitting in my great aunt's house and picked up her newspaper. As I flipped through, I saw something about "Columbia landmark may be done". As I read further, I found out that it was about a local restaurant. The Biscuit House has been around forever and is located directly across the street from WIlliams-Brice Stadium. And I'd never been...

I knew I had to remedy that.

So on Friday morning, I cruised down...

Not a big place. And only open for 6 hours in the morning Monday through Friday. But so good.

As Tommy and I stood in line, we looked at pictures on the wall of all of the various biscuits we could choose from. I saw one with gravy on it and fell in love. But as I looked over the menu, I couldn't find one listed that had gravy. Frowny face emoticon. So I just ordered a steak biscuit. I also ordered a plain buttered biscuit with jelly. Because as anyone who grew up in the South knows, jelly biscuits are the best.

We grabbed our order and went to Starbucks. As we sat down and unwrapped the foil on our biscuits, imagine my heart's joy when I found out...

The steak biscuit was the one with gravy!

Unfortunately, the property that The Biscuit House is on is owned by the University. This is bad because they've decided to expand parking for the stadium to where The Biscuit House presently stands. So the House is being evicted. It's only going to be around for 203 more days. And you can bet that I'll be visiting a lot more during that time...
