AIS9: Top Twelve Announced...

Every year (or at least for the last two), I write weekly posts on American Idol's performance and results shows offering up my analysis and comments on each of the contestants (and sometimes even the judges). This usually picks up (for me, at least) with the announcement of the top twelve. Well, guess what happened last night. Yep. Top Twelve.

Now, here's the deal. I have not kept up with the show very much so far this season. And do you want to know why? (No matter how you answer that question, I'm going to tell you.) It's for two reasons. One, the show has been on three times a week so far. I just can't give up three nights a week to a TV show. Work and my ADD won't allow it. And two, this seasons' contestants are, without a doubt, the worst that have appeared on the show in its history. Scientists have proven this in a lab.

But now I'll be setting my DVR to record the Tuesday and Wednesday showings of the show. I'll be writing tons of criticisms and, hopefully, some compliments.

Now, before I close out this post, I want to offer up one more thing: my deepest sadness over the all too early elimination of Lilly Scott. Lilly, you had a great and very interesting voice, and (equally as important) you were super hot. You will be missed.

But seriously, it looks like you'll have a lot of free time on your hands now. So call me...

So check back in here every Wednesday and Thursday morning for the things I have to say on this rich American tradition...
